Day 1:
At 8:30am you are taken from your hotel to the Ajato port near the municipal Market. After a brief visit to the Market, you leave in a for the meeting of the Waters: the junction where the Rio Negro and the Solimões river meet. From there you go on to the Janauari Ecological Park. You are likely to see diferente kinds of monkeys, birds and other animals. Canoeing can be done during the rainy season when the water is high. After lunch you move on to an área called Iranduba. Getting there, you leave in a motorized canoe for piranha fishing. Later after dinner, you leave for Cayman spotting, your guide pulls the Cayman out of teh water by the neck. After some explanation related and photographs of course, the animal is returned to the water.
Day 2:
At 8:30am you leave in a canoe to watch the Sunrise and to see birds. Breakfast is served at 7am and at 8am your boat leaves on a 4 -5 hours Journey. On the way you stop at na indian village and you see a ritual dance. Photographs can be taken. Video recording can be done too. Your journey continues yet until you get to the Jaraqui área: You sleeping place for the night.
Day 3:
After Breakfast, you do jungle trekking from 7:45am to 11:30am. During this time you are told abot the jungle in rich details. You will learn about medicinal plants, abuot spiders and about any other insects or animal found in the region. After lunch, your boat leaves for another destination called Cuieiras. Getting there a canoe trip through the creeks and channels is done. Night is spent in this área.
Day 4:
From 8am to 11:30am, you visit a local Family. You learn about their simple custom and relationship with the forest.After lunch now on a return trip to Manaus, the boat moves down the river to Acajatuba, getting there at about 4pm. In a canoe, you visit the Ariaú ruins; On this tour you maybe surprised by the sudden appearence of squirrel monkeys. At that is not all, they literally jump into your boat sometimes, giving the chance to take some memorable photographs. Different species of birds and sloths can also be seen.
Day 5:
After breakfast from 8am to 11am another trekking is done, and this time in a diferente eco system compared to the first trekking. More information about the fores tis obtained. After lunch you can swim with the pink dolphins at na área reesrved just for that.
Day 6:
After breakfas you do a canoe trip lasting about 3 hours. After going through creeks and channels, you finally get to the bigger boat at a diferente point. Back on deck, you have lunch and starts your return journey to Manaus, getting there at about 4:30pm. Tour ends when you are taken back to your hotel or to the airport.
What to bring for your jungle tour:
Long pants, short pants, long sleeves shirt, t-shirts, Small daypack, sunglasses, insect repellent, rain coat, cap, boot or tennis shoes, flashlight, Binoculars, swimming suit, Camera, batteries and charger (there is 110 volt electricity.
Very Important
When travelling to the Amazon and to South America in general, make sure you are vaccinated against yellow fever. Get more information about this from your doctor.
